Still Working

I wish I could say there was a lot of exciting things going on here, but the truth is just more working on the boat. I do see a very dim light at the end of the tunnel though. I painted the fly bridge and aft deck today. I installed a new windshield yesterday. The canvas lady came out and fitted the new Bimini today as well. Hopefully it will be done this week. I also began working on the leaking forward hatch yesterday. I hope to have it finished tomorrow or Friday before the rain starts again. Sharon finished sewing the new sun shades for the front windows. They turned out nice. It is all coming together. We have got a lot done in a short period of time, but I am about ready for a break. I live in paradise and all I am doing is working. What's wrong with this picture? I know you all probably feel sorry for me.

Old Memories

I was listening to the radio and this song came on and took me back to college. I had to look it up on youtube. Everything is on youtube. It brought back some old memories, so I thought I would share it. By the way, where have all the good song writters gone? I know, I know I am showing my age, but that's okay. In the imortal words of Popeye I yam what I yam.

Yeah I Know

It has been a little while since I made a post. Not much going on except more work, work, work. I am still working on the flybredge. Sharon has started working on the sun shades for the windows. It takes so much work to make a boat your own. I spent years working on Morgan. It will take alot of work to make Island Queen our own. I don't think I ever want to change boats again.

Flybridge floor with wood 1/4 round caulked to the walls. Yuk!

1/4 round removed and the wall fiberglassed to the floor. Much better.

Leaky hatch in the aft cabin. The frame was not sealed well.

I fiberglassed the frame in. No leaks now.

Work, Work, Work.

Work continues on IQ. I just finished replacing the holding tank. The old one only held 15 gallons. The new one is a 40 gallon tank. It fits in the same space as the old one. I have to put a new macerator pump in yet, but one fun project at a time. We are doing some fiberglass work on the flybridge to seal up some leaks and make it stronger. Lots of work to do, but hey, it's better than roofing.

So far we have:
Changed the oil in the main engine.
Replaced two heads and their drain hoses.
Installed another bilge pump.
Installed a high water alarm.
New stereo.
New scupper drains.
Repaired fiberglass around the port door.
Made all new dock lines.
Installed a new water heater.
Repaired fresh water tank.
Did various plumbing repairs.

And we are just getting started.
